Summer Camp

As some of you  already know, every summer for the past 8 years I have gone to an all girls summer camp for 5 weeks. It is honestly my second home. 5 weeks may seem like a long time but trust me, it is not long enough! This is just to let you know the reason for my 5 week absence. I leave Sunday and will not be back until the end of July. In the mean time, send me some comments on what you're doing this summer or what you would like to see on the blog when I get back!

Much love,

Outfit: As Playful as Versace

I can totally picture myself wearing this to "lunch at the club" or playing golf. Except, I do neither of those so I guess running errands will do! This tunic is is so flattering and the little details are perfection. Not to mention it has pockets! This would be one of those tops you could just throw on and be effortlessly put together.

Instagram Lately

Here is just a little roundup of photos I've been posting on my Instagram lately. If you aren't already, you can follow me @_sweetpotatopi_ !

Last Sunday I wore this dress (still going strong with my obsession with flamingos!) and had to share!

Exactly 2 minutes after I opened this package, I took this picture. I had been on the hunt for the perfect moroccan/tribal clutch and was super excited when I found this one !

One of the many perks of homeschooling is being able to pick out which books I want for summer reading. After reading one of my favorite blogger's (The College Prepster) post on her summer reading list (blog post here), I immediately Amazon primed them to my door. I can't wait to get started!

Here is a happy, organized photo I posted the day I took the ACT, which was everything but. (They did let me in to take it though! ;)

Need I say much about these adorable pj's ? I kid you not, I am obsessed! Also, this tank top is extremely soft!

Thanks for reading!

Outfit: A Splash of Citrus

This tunic is one of the most versatile clothing items I have come across this summer. It triples as a top, dress, or swimsuit cover up. Not to mention the print is to die for! The lightweight cotton feel makes it so easy to move and is not too thick. I had such a fun time shooting these photos at my grandparents' house, I hope you enjoy!

Outfit: Tassel Dress

If you keep up with the fashion blogging world at all, you have probably already seen this dress a million times, or at least I have! But I mean, coral, off the shoulder, and tassels?! This dress has sold out twice already and I am so happy to finally have my hands on it! Probably my favorite dress this summer.

Grape Salsa

Today I am sharing one of my favorite summertime salsas! This grape salsa is so fresh and easy! It is my go-to for summer parties or even just a simple snack. Now, there is no actual recipe written in stone, so hopefully the pictures will do most of the talking as far as measurements/ ratios.
There are only 4 simple ingredients to make this salsa: Grapes, garlic, lime juice, and cilantro. The hardest part of making this salsa is cutting all of the grapes!

Serve with your favorite chips and enjoy! Thanks for reading!

Outfit: Embroidered Shorts

This has definitely been my go-to summer outfit. It's so easy, comfy, and cute! (Like I say for most every outfit lol, sorry not sorry) Now I just need to find something else to wear with these shorts because I can honestly admit have worn this exact outfit about 5 times already. On the other hand, this bucket bag goes with just about everything! Plus it is really great for traveling because I can fit so much into it, including my big camera!

High/Low

This week's lows:
1. Since my mom has broken her foot, I am her chauffeur. Monday she had a doctor's appointment (we waited for 3 hours total) that confirmed she would have surgery Thursday (yesterday).   Her surgery went well and she was able to come home that same day. Right now she has been doing a lot of resting and will hopefully be back scooting around in a few weeks.  Her total recovery time is going to be about 3 months. Thank you to everyone who has prayed or thought about for brought food for my mom and our family, we appreciate it!

2. I am taking the ACT next Saturday and have been and will be doing a lot of test prep until then. It's just a super stressful time. Also, I will be sure to print out the right ticket this time! *face palm*

This week's highs:
3. I know it may seem crazy how much I talk about the weather, but where I live, there is never any consistency! Sunny 90 degrees one day, rainy 35 degrees the next, you just never know. But the sun has been out every single day this week and I'm so thankful! Plus it's really good for my younger siblings to get out of the house while mom is resting!

2. Tuesday, Sweet Potato Pi won a $20 dollar gift card to Red Dress Boutique! And the best part was I didn't even know I had entered! Apparently, if you post a picture on Instagram and tag #rbdstyle you are entered to win a gift card. I was on their Instagram and won $20! So that was just great.

3. The same day I was featured on Red Dress Boutiques Instagram, Marley Lilly posted another one of my pictures on their Instagram! This is already rare for me, so 2 in one day? I was so excited!

Thanks for reading, I hope you had a great week!

Outfit: When Life Gives You Lemons

I mean, is there even much to say about this top? Everytime I spot lemon print items they always remind me of Kate Spade. I think this top is so adorable and fun and the way it drops in the back and covers my bum is a fabulous touch! Normally I'm not one for a peplum top but a peplum off the shoulder lemon print top? I think yes.
